Optimal Solutions CEO Gurvendra Suri Honored at Fifth Annual Sikh American Heritage Dinner Reception on Capitol Hill

SCORE Names Gurvendra Suri 2008 Sikh Entrepreneur of the Year

    Irving,Texas-June 26, 2008-Gurvendra Suri, chief executive officer for Optimal Solutions Integration, Inc., an Irving, Texas-based SAP® consulting and staffing firm, was honored by the Sikh Council on Religion and Education (SCORE) with the 2008 Sikh Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Mr. Suri was presented with the award during the Fifth Annual Sikh American Heritage Dinner Reception held in the historic Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capital Hill in Washington, D.C. Organized by SCORE, the annual Sikh American Heritage Dinner highlights the contributions of Sikhs towards building and strengthening America. More than 300 Sikhs from across the nation as well as 20 elected representatives of the U.S. Congress, among other distinguished guests, attended this year’s event.

“The Sikh American Heritage Dinner event enables Sikh-Americans to gather in Washington, D.C. to celebrate and honor those who have promoted a positive Sikh presence as part of the American cultural fabric through their personal and professional accomplishments,” said Dr. Rajwant Singh, chairman of SCORE. “Gurvendra Suri has achieved tremendous success over the past decade as an entrepreneurial businessman. He has also worked diligently and contributed generously to promote Sikh values through his many corporate and personal charitable activities. It is with great pride that we recognize Mr. Suri as this year’s Sikh Entrepreneur of the Year.”

Said Gurvendra Suri, “The level of participation of Sikhs, Congressmen and Senators from across the country at the Sikh Heritage dinner organized by SCORE is testimony of our community’s growing vigilance of political processes in this country. The credit goes to SCORE and its chairman Dr. Rajwant Singh for educating and encouraging Sikhs to get involved in the political process and build relationships with local and federal government officials.”

Personally, it was very humbling for me to receive this award in the presence of distinguished lawmakers and esteemed Sikhs from across the country in one of the most powerful, politically significant buildings in the nation.”
